MITOLOGÍA


POPULAR (RADIACIÓN)

Nuestra   Cordillera  de  Nahuelbuta,  ha  sido  musa  inspiradora  de compositores,  poetas  y pintores que se han inspirado en tan especial lugar y  en  donde  se reconoce a través de la mitología que existe una especie  de irradiación  o  algo especial que atrae ovnis, que afecta físicamente  a  las personas o que durante la noche se sienten ruidos extraños o se aprecian imágenes entre penumbras.

Que  en  el  nacimiento del río Picoiquén había un murallón de piedra, siendo  este  el  punto  de  un  gran entierro de tesoro que se remonta al  año 1950,  cuando  los  Jesuitas  se fueron después de la última fundación  de  la ciudad  durante la colonia, estos se retiraron  por el  fundo  Los  Copihues que era de propiedad de Don Julio Sepúlveda; entonces  al  momento  de  la partida alguien dijo que los sacerdotes habrían  enterrado sus tesoros, entonces Sepúlveda mando hacer algunos socavones  en el potrero EL RENI, pero nada de eso se encontró, aunque el murallón aún existe

Según  Dillman  Bullock,  habla  de  la Piedra Flexible; sucede que en el desarrollo de erupciones de los volcanes que están en la Cordillera de  Los Andes,  estos  erupcionaron  roca  y  lava, en la cual habría aparecido una Piedra Flexible.

                         
LA QUEBRADA ELVIRA

En  la  formación  del  Angol  de  1862, llegó un joven matrimonio con una bella  hija,  los cuales construyeron su casa en donde hoy existe la actual Plaza  Prat, lado del río Picoiquén.

Cierto  día  un  grupo  de Mapuches que provenían del sector de Deuco, pasaron  cerca del lugar y uno de los jóvenes enamoró a la bella joven, los padres  al  percatarse  de  la situación de opusieron tenazmente.

Ante  tal negativa, el joven huyó con la joven en su canoa río arriba, y cuando  los  padres y los amigos se dieron de lo ocurrido iniciaron la persecución  hasta que dieron con ellos el padre de la niña disparó su escopeta  cayendo  el  mocetón  el  los  brazos  de  la acongojada doncella, y por entre magia en joven caído se convierte en un flamante cisne  que  en un  majestuoso   vuelo  se lleva a la niña, perdiéndose ambos en el espesor del lugar que hoy conocemos como  Quebrada Elvira.


LA CHICA DEL GAMULAN

En  la  década  de los 80, de hizo popular en la ciudad, después de una fiesta  realizada  en  el  Cuerpo  de Bomberos y al ritmo de la música de esos  años,  se conocieron una joven pareja de adolescentes los cuales disfrutaron  del  baile  durante  gran  parte de la noche.   Cuando el reloj marcaba  la  una  de  la  madrugada la joven manifestó su deseo de  regresar a casa, pues el permiso sólo era hasta las una y treinta de  la  mañana; el joven se ofreció ir a dejarla y a la cual le prestó su  gamulán,  por  estar  la joven un poco desabrigada y el gran frío que  presentaba  en  sus  manos, tanto que calaba los huesos el  joven la dejó cuando el reloj marcaba la una y veinte minutos en el  sector de la Javiera  Carrera, después de amena y corta charla y un apasionado beso  el  joven  memorizó la dirección para volver a buscar el gamulán  según  lo  acordado  con la joven muchacha.  

Al día siguiente , llego  buscando  el  lugar  dónde  la había dejado y las personas  que allí  vivían, sorprendidas le comunicaron que desde algún tiempo  atrás no vivía ninguna joven debido a que la supuesta muchacha se había  suicidado  algunos  años  atrás, según las indagaciones con los vecinos  del sector.   El joven llegó sin duda hasta el cementerio recordando los  pasaje  que  había  escuchado de los mismos labios de la  joven  en  la cual  llegó lógicamente a la tumba y sobre la misma depositado su gamulán.


LEYENDA DEL COPIHUE ROJO
 
En tiempos lejanos el cacique Purén era el amo de estas tierras este  tenía una  hija llamada Ariaselva,  esta niña sufría viendo las guerras  y  como trataban  a los prisioneros por tal actitud su padre la odiaba y maldecía.

Pero  un   día,  su  tribu fue  invadida y  destruida,  y la única que se  salvó fue  Ariaselva  y corrió y  corrió entre el bosque hasta caer de  cansancio  y vio  a  un hombre alto de piel blanca muy buen mozo, pero  Ariaselva  se durmió  por  muchos meses y cuando despertó vio a un  hermoso  niño  de tez  blanca, de ojos azules muy hermosos que le decía mamá.


LEYENDA DEL ORIGEN DEL NOMBRE ANGOL

De  acuerdo  a  las  costumbres  del pueblo Mapuche, cuando  un  joven pretendía  a una moza, debía cancelar a su padre el valor  en  el  cual valoraba  a su hija.  Así ocurrió con una hermosa muchacha  hija  de Cacique , pedida en matrimonio por el hijo de otro Cacique  con  un  gran valor  económico.   Pero la muchacha enamorada de  otro  joven  que no tenía medios para comprarla  y sabedora de que su  pueblo  poseía  una gran capacidad  y destreza física, propuso a su  padre que tanto el hijo del Cacique como su joven amado realizaran una  prueba,  y que el ganador sería su esposo , la prueba consistiría en  una  carrera  a  gatas  a  través de las colinas en un terreno muy pedregoso.

La  joven,  que  era  muy   inteligente,  le tejió a su  amado  rodilleras  y coderas  de  lana  de  oveja,  con la que su pretendiente  gano, ya que sus rodillas y codos no sufrieron deterioro alguno.

De  esta  manera  el  nombre "ENCOL", subir  a gatas nombre que más tarde los españoles lo transformaron en "ANGOL".
MONSTRUO ACUATICO DE HUEQUÉN
Durante la década de 1960, a la ribera del río Huequén, se dijo que habitaba un monstruo.
Chava Espinoza tenía 12 años de edad cuando dijo haber visto a un monstruo con características de lagarto bípedo.
El rumor comenzó a correr ante la creencia de los lugareños, quienes se ubicaban en la orilla del rio para vender sus productos debido a la alta demanda que este lugar tenía.
Fue tanto el impacto que tuvo este rumor, que los vecinos comenzaron a realizar gestiones para que una empresa que explotaba las Canteras de Deuco fuera a dinamitar el pozón para sacar al monstruo que allí habitaba.
Así mismo, también surgió el rumor de un buzo que vendría desde Talcahuano a revisar el lugar.
Con el paso del tiempo, el pozo pudo ser dinamitado. Cristian Schontaler, asegura haber visto al monstruo en el hongo que formo la ebullición del agua.
La creencia en este monstruo fue tal que el Doctor Salvador Giacamann realizó un espectáculo en el estadio para reunir recursos para terminar el gimnasio municipal.
Efectivamente, el monstruo apareció, pero era un monstruo de utilería, en el que se encontraba Raúl Garrido y Carlos Sotomayor.
De esta manera se creó la leyenda del monstruo acuático que habitaba en Huequén.

THE ELVIRA GORGE

THE SHEEPSKIN COAT GIRL

In the Decade of the 80's it became popular in the city, a young couple of teenagers met each other in a party held in the fire station, which enjoyed dancing all night.   When the clock strikes one a.m the girl expressed his desire to return home, because she has permission until one and thirty a.m; the young man offered leaving her and which he lent his sheepskin coat, tor not be wearing warm clothing, the guy left her when the clock struck one twenty minutes in the Javiera Carrera sector, after short talk and a passionate kiss, the guy has memorized the address to search his sheepskin coat as agreed with the girl.

The next day, he arrived looking for the place where he had left the girl and the people that lived there, surprised reported him that some time ago no girl lived there since the supposed girl had committed suicide some years ago, according to the investigations with the residents of the sector. The young man reached in the cemetery remembering the passage that had heard of the same lips of the girl when he came to the tomb and on it was deposited his sheepskin coat.


THE COPIHUE LEGEND

The legend said, that in a mapuche community, located in the forests of the South of Chile, lived a beautiful girl called Rayen. She was in love with Maitú, a brave and bold community warrior. They had been promised in marriage by their parents when they were children. One day of spring Maitú started with the men of his village to fight in a battle next to the Toltén River. Rayen was very sad and climb an araucaria, that was the tallest tree of the forest, as whenever she did Maitú was sacred. From there she could observe the fugitive dust by the warriors in combat, and sees their return.

However, this time Rayen saw nothing. The hours passed and in the forest only the deep and long the sighs of the young mapuche could be heard. When night fell Rayen down the Araucaria and worried went to his ruca.

The tears of the young woman became copihues, beautiful flowers of blood that hung on high, small, strong, and weak trees. Come, lie down!!  Then, she lay down and a red carpet leaves through the skies. It was the girlfriend who went to meet Maitú.

Since that time blooms the copihues as a sign of the love between two young Mapuches that in the middle of a carpet of beautiful copihues, managed to meet again.


THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME ANGOL

According to the Mapuche customs, when a guy court a girl, must cancel her father the price in which valued her daughter.  This was the case with a beautiful girl a Cacique daughter, asked in marriage by the son of another Cacique with great economic value.   But the girl in love with another guy who had no means to buy her and aware of her people possessed a great capacity and physical dexterity, proposed to her father that both sons of the Cacique and her young beloved performs a test, and the winner would be her husband, the test would consist of a career to climb the hills in a very rocky ground on all fours.

The guy, who was very smart, wove her beloved knee and elbow pads of sheep wool, which her suitor won, since his knees and elbows did not suffer any damage.

Thus the name "ENCOL", climbing on all fours, a name that later the Spaniards transformed it into "ANGOL".
 
AQUATIC MONKEY OF HUEQUÉN
During the 1960s, on the banks of the Huequén River, it was said that a monster lived.
