Convento San Buenaventura


Es el convento más antiguo de lX región, construido en 1863 por la orden Franciscana. Su arquitectura es netamente Colonial con influencias Góticas y Neoclásicas.

El RP Apolinarias en el año 1863, bendijo la primera piedra donde se iba a edificar a iglesia de la Orden Franciscana, posteriormente en 1867 llegó al convento el hermano Leopoldo Escatulini como arquitecto para terminar el trabajo de la construcción de la iglesia que paso a ser uno de los conventos mas importantes en el territorio, después del convento de Chillan, hacia el año 1879 el nuevo prefecto de Angol, Pinicio Pardini, prosiguió con la construcción del convento y levanto otra parte que sirviera de la escuela, taller de zapatería, carpintería y dormitorios para los alumnos indígenas, este convento se construyo en firma discontinuada, ya que , se carecía que recuerdos económicos, materiales y de los continuos robos de los indígenas.

En el año 1891 se construyo un edificio de dos pisos, con las dimensiones de 32 metros de lago por 11 de ancho y por 9 de alto, que sirvió de habitación a los sacerdotes que allí vivían.

Hoy en día dicho convento sigue en pie y es una reliquia arquitectónica e histórica que encierra entre sus muros numerosas generaciones de un pasado casi olvidado, hoy su arquitectura es admirada por cientos de turistas que lleguen a la ciudad de Angol

SAN BUENAVENTURA CONVENT

A building of two floors, with the dimensions of 32 meters of length by 11 widths and 9 in height, which served as a room for priests who lived there was built in 1891.

The monastery is still standing today and is an architectural and historical relic that encloses between its walls numerous generations of a past almost forgotten, today its architecture is admired by hundreds of tourists who arrive in the Angol city. It is located on Covadonga with Vergara street.
